title sportunanderrasquare17 copyStudents at St Pius X have many opportunities to become involved in activities outside the regular school curriculum. Here are some of them...

SWIMMING, ATHLETICS, CROSS COUNTRY
These are our three major sports carnivals in the school year. They are fun and active days for all children, encouraging participation and sportsmanship. All children are expected to participate at a school level. From these carnivals, squads are formed to represent St Pius X at a Diocesan level. This can then lead to Mackillop trials, Mackillop (State level in Catholic Schools) and National levels. Training squads meet before school and during lunch times.

SOCCER, NETBALL, BASKETBALL, DRAGON TAG, CRICKET
St Pius X participates in Diocesan gala days in these sports. Training is organised by staff during lunch time in the weeks leading up to each event.

STUDENT REPRESENTATIVE PATHWAYS (SPORT)
Each year outstanding sporting students (ie playing in the highest division possible) in Yrs 5 and 6 are given the opportunity to nominate for the chance to attend Diocesan Sports Trials. This year trials will be held for Tennis, Basketball, Netball, Soccer, Rugby League, Rugby Union, Touch, Hockey, Softball and Cricket.

The representative pathways are as follows: School-based Carnivals/Trials > Diocesan Carnivals/Trials > NSW Mackillop Carnivals/Trials > NSW PSSA State Carnivals > Australian Championships (School Sport Australia).

DANCE
Several times a year our dance group comes together, under the guidance and choreography of one of our talented staff members, to create, rehearse, then perform, for special liturgical celebrations.
